Everyday unit converter

Temperature Converter

Convert temperature scales with both offsets and scale factors, plus absolute-zero validation.

Converted value

Enter values to calculate

Temperatures below absolute zero are rejected.

Why temperature is different

Temperature scales do not share the same zero point, so a simple multiplier is not enough. Tooliyapa converts each supported scale through Kelvin.

Absolute zero

Results below 0 K are rejected because they are below absolute zero. Small floating-point noise around zero is normalized instead of showing an impossible negative Kelvin value.

Reference points

Water freezes at 0 °C = 32 °F = 273.15 K, and Celsius and Fahrenheit have the same numerical value at -40.
